Mu Qiao

Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Mizuki Molecule

Dr Qiao Mu is the co-founder and CTO of Waterwood Molecules. Incubated by Tsinghua University's Institute for Intelligent Industry Research, Mizuki Molecule is dedicated to building a fundamental big model of the biopharmaceutical industry and a new generation of conversational biopharmaceutical R&D assistant. Dr Qiao Mu previously worked at IBM Research - Almaden in Silicon Valley, USA, as a research leader in the AI platform department. He led a number of technology solutions that were successfully applied to IBM's core products and served Fortune 500 companies. Dr Qiao Mu's work has been recognised with a number of major awards including the IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, Outstanding Research Achievement Award, and the IBM High Value Invention Patent Award. He holds more than 70 U.S. patents (over 40 granted) and has twice been named an IBM Master Inventor. He was inducted as a Member of IBM Academy of Technology in 2021. Dr Chomu was an IBM Global Quantum Ambassador. Dr Chomu was inducted into the US NAE Frontiers of Engineering Program in 2023 (81 in the US). He is also an Industrial Instructor in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University. He has worked at eBay Research Labs, Xerox PARC, IBM T.J. Watson and other world-class research institutes. Joki received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, USA in 2012.
