Ming Zhou
Founder of Langboat Technology; Former Deputy Managing Director of Microsoft Research Asia
Zhou Ming is the Founder of Langboat Technology and former Deputy Managing Director of Microsoft Research Asia. He is a world-renowned NLP expert, with around 100 publications in ACL conferences and an H-index of 110. He serves as Vice Chair of the China Computer Federation (CCF) and has previously held positions as President of the International Committee on Computational Linguistics (ICCL) and Deputy Managing Director at Microsoft Research Asia. Zhou earned his Ph.D. from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1991 and subsequently taught at Tsinghua University. In 1999, he joined Microsoft Research Asia, where he led NLP research for many years. In 2021, he founded Langboat Technology, focusing on lightweight foundation models and next-generation NLP products. His startup was awarded the top prize at the 2021 Beijing HICOOL Entrepreneurship Competition. He is an ACL Fellow, CCF Fellow, and CAI Fellow, and serves as a doctoral advisor at five universities.
